Architecture does not stand still, we need to push its boundaries and, in some cases, to break them, to embrace the advancements in architectural thinking and technology, but also to learn to work together in a team, both nationally and internationally, to share knowledge, expertise and experience.
This approach is part of my architectural ethos, an ethos which I apply to all the projects I work on.
In all my projects I work closely with the clients and design teams to incorporate the latest in architectural and sustainable thinking for the benefit of the client and the future building users.

Living in Spain
Spain is famous for its passion for art and design. It has been home to some of history's greatest painters, fashion designers and pioneering modern architects.
I am based in Madrid where I work as a freelance architectural designer / arquitecto collaborating with both Spanish developers and architectural practices. I bring northern European thinking and approach to architecture to the team and assist in combining it with the Spanish passion for contemporary design.
I work closely with international clients where I encourage international collaboration, assisting Spanish teams to interpret and develop the clients needs and aspirations.
Within these projects I bring my northern European thinking and experience creating designs that respond to the Spanish environment and legislation but also that respond directly to the clients individual lifestyle. I also bring sustainable thinking incorporating both passive and active technologies, whilst respecting and incorporating the Spanish Mediterranean approach to modern contemporary design and architecture.

Over the years I have gained experience in most sectors within the UK construction industry on projects of varying size, complexity and value (ranging from £50,000 to £50m), for clients ranging from individuals to multi-national organisations, with each project presenting me with its unique challenges and opportunities.
Through this varied experience I have developed a thorough understanding of the construction process in the UK. From this I have developed vast knowledge of the initial stages of the design process, aspects such as feasibility studies and project brief development, concept development, project visualisation, sustainable concepts including the Code for Sustainable Homes and BREEAM, planning procedures including public consultations and D&A Statements and government (OJEU) tender / competition submissions.
As a result of this specialist knowledge and experience I am currently collaborating with a number of UK based companies assisting with these initial stages of the design process, producing feasibility studies, presentations, visualisations and planning applications on various projects including a college redevelopment schemes, various barn conversions, new residential developments, student accommodation and a business park developments.

I work closely with a number of developers, real estate professionals and other architects in Spain and the UK to assist in the development and promotion of investment properties to international buyers and investors especially, but not exclusively, in Madrid and Barcelona.
This international Real Estate and Architectural team consists of various professionals with experience working on a large variety of project types throughout Spain, Portugal, UK and Europe as a whole. Through these projects this team has developed a large network of contacts in the Spanish Real Estate sector and hence has access to properties of various types, characteristics, sizes and locations, which are not available to the open market, ranging from individual luxury villas to multimillion euro holiday resorts.
I work closely with these professionals utilising both my skills as an architectural designer / arquitecto to demonstrate the redevelopment potential many of these properties represent, enhanced through the use of 3D modelling and visualisations as well as my network of contacts within the UK.
